Disability tax credit is a non-refundable tax credit that helps people with disabilities or their supporting persons reduce the amount of income tax they may have to pay. Once an individual is eligible for the disability tax credit, they may claim the disability amount on their income tax and benefit return.
If you have a dependant with mental or physical disability who may not need to claim all or part of that amount on their tax return, that person may be able to transfer their tax credit to you under certain conditions.
